International Tree Day with Minister Maciej Nowicki

On 10 October 2009, Professor Maciej Nowicki, Minister of the Environment, took part to the inaugural ceremony of the 7th Edition of the International Tree Day, in Warsaw.During the ceremony Professor Maciej Nowicki, Minister of the Environment, congratulated the Gaia Club for their excellent initiative they have for the seventh time organised in Poland under the International Tree Day. He personally planted linden seedling at the Iron Gate (Żelaznej Bramy) Square, in Warsaw.
Besides the general public, Professor Maciej Nowicki and Mr. Jarosław Kochaniak, Deputy City Mayor of Warsaw, the following individuals took part to the 7th Edition of the International Tree Day, in Warsaw: Marian Pigan, Director General of the "State Forests" National Holding, Mr. Jacek Bożek, President of the Gaia Club, and Mr. Jerzy Owsiak, President of the Board of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation.
When congratulating the organisers, Professor Maciej Nowicki said: - Like a tree, the International Tree Day grows and expands in Poland. Let the more and more trees grow around us and let the young people take care of them because humanity will day in absence of trees. The awareness of the importance of trees and greenery in our everyday life is extremely important for human health.
